Using Social Media to Build Your Business
As many of you may know, over the past ten years social media has proven itself to be an indispensable marketing tool to grow your business. Whether you are a wholesale manufacturer looking to expose products to dealers or a retail store marketing to consumers, social media is a great tool to increase your reach and make beneficial connections.
The main roadblock I have come across when discussing social media is targeting. There are millions of people on social media, how do we reach our target market? If you sell B2B, a technique that has worked for me is following businesses who may be interested in your product or service. This not only makes them aware of your business, it may also prompt them to follow you back! If you are a retail store selling to the end consumer, you can utilize Facebook and Twitter Ads. These advertising avenues allow you to target interests and location to ensure you are reaching the right consumers. Ads can prompt viewers to like your page or visit your website, which increases leads and potential sales for your business! Lastly, utilizing hashtags is a great way to reach your target market. Simply hashtag the product your are promoting, and people searching for that product will be lead to your page.
Above all, the most important thing about social media marketing is consistency. Simply creating your account isn’t enough to generate a following, and it can actually hurt your website. If Google sees your website is associated with Social Media accounts that aren’t updated it can hurt your SEO ranking. Make a schedule for each social media account and stick to it, and you will build your following in no time!
Social media is a great way to make connections and build your business. Start by following us on social media. I promise we will follow you back!
