After Years of Service, Wholesale Shows Remain Valuable Resource

As the wholesale market for outdoor products, furniture, and crafts continues to evolve, wholesale shows and expos remain a staple in our community. When I began working in wholesale I anticipated the market, like most other markets, to be dominated by online advertising and promotion. I was surprised to find that many of the manufacturers I would be dealing with wouldn’t have their own websites, and rely almost entirely on wholesale shows for their advertising. So, after all these years, what keeps wholesale shows relevant?

First and foremost, wholesale shows give buyers the opportunity to connect with wholesalers face-to-face, and experience their products first hand. The internet is a great resource to generate interest in a product, but in a buyer’s situation he/she is building a long-term business relationship, and experiencing the products first hand is very important. Secondly, wholesale shows give buyers the opportunity to personally connect with dozens, sometimes hundreds of wholesalers all in one place.

I’ve listed a few reasons why I think wholesale shows are still an important resource, what do you think? Leave your comments below! I’ve also listed some wholesale shows that are a great way to meet the featured manufacturers on All American Wholesalers, as well as hundreds of other wholesale manufacturers.
